Recently, we shared some simple self-care ideas that you can do while staying home here. While we’re probablyyyy not so good at keeping to the exercise goals, we definitely have been keeping up with the daily face masking. 😌

All of these DIY masks are made from ingredients you can easily find around your home, so you don’t have to fight those hoarders at NTUC for supplies. 😉

– 1/4 cup cooked oatmeal ⁣(cooled)
– 2-3 tablespoons plain yoghurt⁣ 🥛
– 1 tablespoon honey 🍯
Leave mask on for 15-20mins.

Honey is anti-bacterial, which makes it perfect for DIY masks targeting acne.
Both honey and oatmeal combat inflammations, and all three ingredients are very soothing and moisturising for skin.
The lactic acid present in yoghurt also softens skin without any harsh irritants or chemicals.

– 2 tablespoons honey 🍯
– 1 /2 cup mashed papaya
Leave mask on for 10-15mins.

The enzyme papain in papaya has skin-lightening properties and can reduce the visibility of dark spots and acne scars. The antioxidants present can also combat free radical damage and reduce the signs of ageing in skin e.g. fine lines and wrinkles.

1/2 mashed avocado 🥑
– 1/2 mashed banana 🍌
– 1 tablespoon honey⁣ 🍯
Leave mask on for 20-25mins.

Banana contains lots of Vitamin A which promotes cell turnover, getting rid of the dead skin cells sitting on top of your face.
Avocado contains omega fatty acids that heals and soothes dry, cracked skin. Honey moisturises and soothes dry and itchy skin, combating any open wounds and inflammation from picking.

– 1 large mashed tomato 🍅
– 2 teaspoons brown sugar
– 1 teaspoon honey⁣ 🍯
Leave mask on for 5-10mins.

Tomatoes contain lycopene, a powerful antioxidant to combat free radicals and reduce the signs of ageing.
Coupled with brown sugar, this gentle exfoliating mask helps to get rid of dead skin cells, promoting a natural glow. This mask is more gentle on skin compared to physical exfoliators that use nut kernels or large sugar crystals, and does not have to be scrubbed on.

– 1 teaspoon green tea powder 🍵
– warm water 💧
– 1 teaspoon yoghurt
1 teaspoon honey⁣ 🍯
Dissolve green tea powder in a tiny amount of warm water before mixing in the other ingredients.
Leave mask on for 10mins.

Green tea soothes skin, reducing redness and inflammation. The antioxidants in green tea also combats free radicals to reduce the signs of ageing.
Honey is hydratinganti-inflammatory, and it is a natural astringent. This combination targets stubborn acne without drying out or irritating your skin.

If you don’t have matcha powder on hand, you can empty out one green tea teabag as a substitute.
